HISTORY:

Commissioned by the Royal Museum of Alberta to coincide with an international touring exhibit about Sharks, this musical was created by Tim Ryan, Richard Link and Chris Wynters in the summer of 1993. This musical play for young audiences ran twice a day to school tours coming to see the exhibit. The set, made up of a huge bathysphere and inhabited by realistic, life size shark puppets was where Matt and Sarah conversed with many species of the creatures with the use of a new fangled translator helmet.

It is the only time Chris has worked solely as a lyricist and the work was certainly challenging. The museum administrators who commissioned the piece were adamant that all of the information that the children would learn about sharks would be presented in the lyrics of the songs. Needless to say, Chris now knows a great deal about sharks.
